Equion - Travels - Single

  Big news world! My first single has just been released to public enjoyment! The 3 tracks are based on all my Travels this past year. I've recorded hundreds of sounds with my Tascam DR-05. I am a huge advocate of the art of story-telling through my ambient/electronic tunes. Sampling is key to blend both what the audience wants to hear and where the audience wants to be.

Audio Highlight - Arthur Zdrinc - It's A.D. 2016.

  I was recently privileged to participate in my friends new album. It's called "It's A.D. 2016." and is an ambient collection of tracks derived from the hard work of a few passionate artists (Arthur Zdrinc, Dante Alarcon, Lunar Day, Connectedness Locus, Andrew Barkules, Everything Comes In Cycles, Everything Fades In Shades, and myself Tim Moore). Arthur Zdrinc lead the team of artist by collaborating with each one of us and gave general direction to each song, making sure the album flowed smoothly and was continuative. My track lies 6th in the album and is named "The Spring of 1988". I discovered great experience working with samples and organic noises.

  Here's an excerpt from Arthur explaining the meaning of the album:

"Each song captures a moment in time. 
Time... 
That transient concept. 
That elusive and deceiving idea. 
Since the existence of mankind... we have micro managed our transient lives with the use of "calendars," cylindrical tablets of stone, cave paintings. Whether we carve into stone the significant occurrences during our generation, or Vlog each and every meal we've had in the last week. Man is obsessed with retention. And specifically in this age of retentia we live in, the human has astronomical potential for merely perfect retention; Of memories, of thoughts, of ideas, Et Cetera."

Audio Highlight - Toro y Moi - So Many Details (Remix feat. Hodgy Beats)

  I have a infatuation for Toro y Moi. This track makes me feel like the kid at the party who doesn't quite fit in due to confusion with personal matters. Maybe I feel it because I've been there done that. Lights and stars can't cure your problems. It's the simple certitude that you have the ability to resolve what really matters in life and turn your focus from disturbances. 
  The song covers so many emotions all in one track. Everyone can identify with it in some way or another. The root is that love can evaporate at any second. She can love you in the morning then abandon you by dark. I can relate to this track so well it hurts to listen to it. The feeling of trying to fill a hole without favorable outcome and then conducting yourself satisfactory has to be the most throbbing. 

  Take a look at music video to this brilliant remix. I find it incredibly excellent and moving.

Audio Highlight - Sufjan Stevens - Futile Devices (Shigeto Remix)

  For me, this Audio Highlight is a dream to write about. This track integrates two of my all-time favorite artists. I adore Sufjan Stevens for his approach to songwriting. His music assimilates a reason of adventure and freedom so well. He's my go-to for road trips and uncertain escapades. Ironically, Shigeto happens to sit high in my favorites as well. First, he's released under my favorite record label, Ghostly International, and second I love how Shigeto blends his Japanese heritage incredibly melodiously with innovative electronic beats and patterns. 
  To hear this track is a fantasy for me. Shigeto's mangled, twisted low-key beat is a flawless union with Sufjan's relaxed vocals and acoustic piano. 
  I'd love to hear more collaboration between these two brilliant artists. Enjoy the track!

Audio Highlight - Desire - Mirror Mirror

  On my first audio highlight, I made it clear that I have a WIDE variety of musical tastes. With that reminder, I present to you Desire. Desire is the brainchild of Johnny Jewel (Chromatics, Italians Do It Better, Glass Candy). After moving out of Portland he met the pure voice of singer Megan Louise in Montreal. Together, they've fashioned a beautiful disco vibe perfect for a nighttime cruise.

Audio Highlight - Lusine Icl - Without Standing

Today I highlight one of my favorite ambient artists. Lusine Icl specializes in ambient and electronic music. His electronic work is authored under Lusine and his ambient pieces are authored by Lusine Icl. As Lusine Icl, Jeff McIlwain exhibits significant tones and emotion through his passion for field recordings and his electronic background.

The song I am featuring today is called 'Without Standing' from Lusine Icl's album "Language Barrier". This song especially has always had a sweet spot with me. I feel like it's open to all imagination. As if no dream is distant. The small tastes of piano are so artfully inserted. They sound like raindrops feel. Layered on top an eery bed of synth, this track makes me picture a beautiful apocalyptic love story. It's my go-to song as I drive through the city of Chicago late at night during a rain storm. I perceive a world of opportunity; a place that's just a small reach away.

Audio Highlight- Todd Terje - Inspector Norse

  I've decided to start doing what I'm going to style as "Audio Highlights". The idea sparked when my friend Kelsey acquainted to my love for music and art of emotions it portrays. I'm excited to share with you music that has lent a helping hand to me when I'm feeling dejected, music that sat with me from the stars of Utah's canyons to the fizzy Las Vegas brilliance. You'll see a wide variety of genres featured in my audio highlights; ranging from electronic 80's funk to the beauty of ambient jazz.

  Today I start my reviews with one of my favorite songs to dance to. Within the first 10 seconds, you swiftly get wrapped up in a beautiful toe-tapping bass-line. The arcade-like bass-line prompted visions of the show 'How It's Made'. I can see the potato chip coming off the conveyor belt now.
  This song makes me feel like no matter where I am in life, I'm exactly where I am suppose to be in full contentment. The builds are very enchanting. They don't lie or mislead you in anyway.
  My favorite part of the song is unquestionably the epic fullness of 3:36. 

  I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. It's certainly helped put a smile on my face in many occasions.
